Samedi 26 Octobre 2013

it based on your background

my homework~The rights of immigrants~

The rights of immigrants

Immigrants without citizenship should NOT have the same rights as citizens.

According to the British sociologist T. H Marshall’s essay “Citizenship and Social Class” issued in 1950, citizenship roughly divides into three areas of civil rights like freedom, political rights like voting, taking public examinations and holding public offices, and finally social rights like welfare payment. These three parts involve the nation and her people’s citizenship. Furthermore, according to “The Constitution of the Public of China” Article 2: The sovereignty of the Republic of China shall reside in the whole body of citizens. That’s the reason why citizenship is an important subject and my country uses the highest standards to regulate this status.

The status of immigrants is classified into four types: having nationality, getting on the household register, settling down and just staying a short period of time. Only having nationality one is a citizen and has all the rights of a citizen in accordance with law.

There are some other reasons supporting my opinion, that immigrates should not have the same rights as citizens, let me explain more specifically.

The first reason is that immigrants haven’t the same obligation as citizens. Immigrants have lived in the country less than natives. Natives have more responsibilities than immigrants. Suppose the environment changes, immigrants have the chance to choose to return home or to go elsewhere which offers more advantage to them. No matter whether it is about the economy or is the war. Yet the natives have no choices. They can only stay with the country through thick and thin.

In addition, for those immigrants who have committed crime, they are charged by different law depending on how their original countries deal with the native country. This might affect the feelings of native people.

Yet, when immigrants have got official citizenship, their rights and the obligations are the same as natives. Under these circumstances, their status should be equal to natives.

Unless they have Taiwanese nationality, I think, immigrants without citizenship should NOT have the same rights as citizens.

my homework~Before Midnight~

my homework~has been corrected~
Before Midnight

I went to the cinema recently to watch a movie “Before Midnight”.
The director is Richard Linklater. The lead actor was Ethan Hawke. The lead actress stared was Julie Delpy.
The introduction from the film maker is below:
We meet Jesse and Celine nine years on in Greece. Almost two decades have passed since their first meeting on that train bound for Vienna.
The movie is one of a series. The first one, “Before Sunrise” took place in Vienna eighteen years ago. The next, “Before Sunset” took place in Paris nine years ago. And the third one is “Before Midnight” set in Greece this year. The series was made by same film team and the same stars.
“Before Sunrise” is such a beautiful movie, like a fairy tale. It describes an American boy named Jesse meeting a French girl called Celine on a train way to Vienna. Both had a broken relationship just a few days ago. Based on mutual understanding, they can feel sympathy to each other. Then, they start to talk and find the other person so worth of knowing. In the end, when they have to part before sunrise, they make an appointment to meet in the same place six months later. After doing this, they give a kiss and an embrace to each other, waving to say goodbye.
Nine years goes by before “Before Sunset” is released. When Jesse appeares in Paris meeting his readers at a book store, he sees Celine outside and she stares at him wearing a friendly smile. He finishes the meeting and asks her to go for a walk in an awkward atmosphere. Along the conversation, we gradually realize they didn’t meet nine years ago because the girl never showed. Celine explaines  that her grandma died that day. So she says “past is past. It was meant to be that way. ”. Why did she say that? Because Jesse had now got married and has a son. Jesse tells her he couldn’t feel happy. His wife is a nice woman but not good at communicating with him. He has to go to the airport before sunset since he has booked the flight. In the end, Celine tells Jesse he will be late if he doesn’t leave at once. Jesse just says “I know.”
This year, bring the third drama “Before Midnight” after another nine years. With a passion based on the two movies I have seen. I saw it a less romantic movie than “Before Sunrise” and “Before Sunset”. It became a serious one. They have a romantic night in the hotel because they have traveled to Greece with their twin girls. But life is complicated. They have both changed. One is so realistic and the other is so practical. They discuss issues like raising children, cleaning the house, equality, fairness, dream jobs, achievements- something like that. The romantic atmosphere has gone, they start to quarrel and argue. The beautiful midnight is ruined.
I saw an unsatisfied woman with an unhappy mood accompanied by her husband. They loved each other still. But I can feel there is so much compromise. Life indeed is tough.
What can I say? My fairy tale had gone. How I wish and hope they could have been luckier. I wish it sincerely.

Mardi 15 Octobre 2013

Lundi 14 Octobre 2013

the right

am I right?

Dimanche 13 Octobre 2013

but I need to
